Nokia Considering Revenue Split with Carriers for Dedicated Windows Phone 8 Support

According to a new report by The Financial Times, Nokia is considering revamping their marketing strategy in the form of offering up revenue splits to several European carriers. The Finnish company would only entertain this with the hope of obtaining dedicated support for its future Windows Phone 8 handsets. If Nokia is successful in this endeavor it would move the company away from past strategies, which favored selling as many devices as it could across every carrier. Ideally, the transition would reflect the exclusive relationship Apple first had with U.S. carrier AT&T for the iPhone back in 2007.

European wireless carriers France Telecom (Orange) and Deutsche Telekom are rumored to be involved in the preliminary talks, but have yet to confirm or deny the growing speculation.
