Nokia N900 Coming to T-Mobile USA?

New rumor that Nokia’s new flagship phone, the N900, will be getting picked up by T-Mobile USA in “early 2010”. I personally love that phone and am waiting it’s official unlocked release (supposed to be today but looks like it will be the 26th or later this month, sigh).

Now, the phone in it’s unlocked form, already has T-Mobile’s 3G frequencies built in so there would be no benefit to wait for the T-Mobile version (except the slightly lower price since T-Mobile bought 30,000 from Nokia and got a great deal on them to say the least).

So you can wait if you want, but soon as that bad boy is on any internet site (not for preorder lol) I’m grabbing it. What can I say, when it comes to new toys, I’m not waiting another 3 months or more just to get the exact same phone with T-Mobile logos and proprietary software on it…

    1. Hello ThaPharmacist,

I know! I want it now! lol
I haven’t yet and I’ve called 3 separate times lol I think it’s because Im asking about the N900 and they are probably under strict orders not to discuss selling it wholesale since they have no clue when it is being released.
The Nokia sales people say it will be released this week but everywhere else (even some Nokia executives) say most likely won’t be released till Oct 26th or even November…

  1. I think maybe the 15th it will be released. Rumor is that it’s the reason why T-Mobile is releasing a $50 unlimited plan. Just for the n900.

    1. Hello Neo,

The 15th as in tomorrow? You mean the unlocked debut? I wish! I have a feeling though that it won’t be released till later this month or even next month judging by all the different rumors online. But tomorrow would be very nice 🙂
As for the $50 plan coming out around the same time as the N900 for T-Mobile next year, you’re probably right, but I doub’t it would be a plan ONLY for the N900, might be a promotional plan that comes out when the N900 comes out, that would make more sense.

  2. This or a android phone help me choose
please nokia make a android phone this hardware with android software whould be dope!

    1. Hello Zerocool,

No need to plead to Nokia, I’m getting one and you know one of the first things I’m going to try to do (besides set up Apps2SD) is see if we can port Android over. They both are on a linux kernel so it should be “easier” not easy, but “easier” lol

    1. Hello David M,

You are the MAN! It is a legit site (not the best at customer service too be completely honest, but they deliver the phones). So took a look and it says Friday on the site, but he says that they will be arriving on Monday I’ll be ordering one and having it overnighted so expect a full review come Tuesday or Wednesday.

ALSO I HAD AN IDEA GUYS AND I NEED YOUR OPINION…
I was thinking we should use this site to all our advantage. I wanted to see if we can start something in the Forum where people all interested in buying a particular phone can sign up saying they are serious about buying one and then I can call the suppliers for us and use our numbers to our advantage and get wholesale price for everyone who wants the phone. Make sense? What do you guys think?

  3. @ the unlock
that whould be great 48gb memory try that if you if you could port android over it and have everything work dude gravy

  4. @ the unlockr
no problem, you help me out before so I figure I throw one back at you! MAN is a great idea I would love to get
the cool new phone at whole sale price instead of retail.putting in the forum sounds good, and i’m looking forward to the review I know i said I love htc phones but this phone is bad ass…

  5. wow…wholesale price…i’m interested too….how do i sign up….plz…i can’t wait for this phone…i’m going crazy over it…

  6. it wont be released until q1 2010 through tmobile. dont get your panties in a bunch. i got it right from the horses mouth, so to speak. for a difference of probably 400 bux, its worth the wait unless you have money to burn. and that site you pointed to says OCTOBER 30TH right at the top, so not tommorow. 🙂

    1. They just changed it to Oct 30th lol I actually called them when he posted that comment and he said Monday they would have it, guess he has no clue about his own company… aw well.
Now as for $400 different on the phone for T-Mobile. Probably more like a little less than $100 savings if you wait till T-Mobile gets it and buy it from them. I’ll explain why…

First compare Apples to Apples, cause Amazon.com will sell the N900 for $585 NO CONTRACT. Now I think you mean $400 difference with a contract, which is still doubtful if you take say a phone like the Pro2 as an example…
      Pro2 T-Mobile Version from TMobile.com without a contract – $550
      Pro2 Euro Version from Amazon.com without a contract – $635

So about a $85 savings to buy it from T-Mobile.com? Now with a contract the Pro2 is $350 so that is a better savings, but that is contract versus no contract, not really Apples to Apples I’d say (especially when a lot of people are not eligible for a contract upgrade and that price or they just don’t want to extend the contract).

So if we pretend the trend will hold true with the N900…
      N900 from T-Mobile.com without a contract – $500
      N900 from Amazon.com without a contract – $585
And you are looking at a contract price around $300 maybe?

Now normally it wouldn’t be the price that should make you wait to buy a phone if you know your US carrier is buying the phone, it is the fact that they will put their 3G frequencies into it and that is a huge plus 🙂 BUT with the N900 (first this has happened, besides a little know Pharos 137 device), the unlocked version already HAS TMobile 3G in it.

And another benefit of buying the unlocked version is that it will hold its resale value better than the T-Mobile version (since it can be used on any carrier). So when the 4 months are up and there is a new phone out I can sell my N900 (that I’ve babied and kept all the accessories, manuals, and box etc.) for maybe $100 less than what I paid for it on eBay as a perfect condition used phone and use that money to buy my next toy 🙂 Something I do with all of my phones ($33 a month to have a phone you want every 3 months, not too expensive right?)

So again, I’m not waiting. I’ll gladly pay the extra $85 or so to get the phone 4 months or more ahead of time without branding and logos. Not too mention by the time US Carriers come out with a phone, it’s sequel is underway in Europe and I have a bad habit of buying new phones too damn often 🙂

  7. lol, new generic release date. https://store.nokia.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&productId=10000367&catalogId=10101&storeId=10500&krypto=YLKA/q8PCxs4O/Q8Oj%2BfJwJ6S1vgQVw4dXFCZHwZwy67Urv9LxU1DcixM1Bl8X4q%2ByX0WkpiDpoy49XvoImY8ku2SsMm1SWwv4NQxQPj0z1%2BlMCUElc%2BjHMeXFt4zyl2U7KD6V2SqwybQQqROIuIvLvSKNihB%2BiScrZySq9oVL8ULQvXdlqRu0Y7HfrHL86f4PtvUVWM9W8w3gCoeuscNObAS7LSdxgA33oG1H9dmaMzw6RVowyg7ySo1sE2pKf1nOUqwfeRKF4cx5KOwTTjQUtZuxhBthG2tjwlcUrY6acTDC7CPn4nYu1bEnYBZ7ROmO3vlUg87e%2BBBkuWfTK5lxcpIpUehdpOXipBpo/DNONDNBR4sZVfOEwSj9Q3YbQErpctuufvEXKpZlFxUXiKKTgCRRhiAfZpLwXhY4n0KIPfa3PlEpFmf2bLMSWDKT8HSV1Yq9OTCJe/duWobW%2BPwS2xIlBfIop7cHag6bpFEM4p4rxmIY1a9O7%2B4K%2BzcbPCh27z2E/cUTyb3ky/uHGlDf0eXhNNOtQD9d9ii8%2B/mpAJ13EJcX8D3DfHAsNRqFvBkmiSloDVFG1oTFiEBkmlZXexHxSdZ9liXy66Qv9mLrSJifkZ3Xd0e9UevVS9q5wwu454A2M7XlE%3D&ddkey=http:ProductDisplay

  8. Apparently T-Mo USA is only getting the N97. NOT the N900. That’s awesome news because now the phone will REALLY be worth getting. Can’t wait for this badboy to ship already!

    1. Omadevi,

It’s out. I’m typing to you on it as we speak 🙂
Just not picked up by T-Mobile, but you can by it unlocked and just put your TMobile SIM in it and you are all set 🙂
