Nokia N900 Not Coming Until November… Not Surprised
Ok, this isn’t a huge surprise to me (a let down, but not a surprise). The new Nokia N900, which was originally scheduled to release in October, will now start shipping sometime in November.
I kind of guessed at this when I saw the dates for the Nokia N900 Meetups around the world and saw that Chicago’s meetup was on November 2nd. This would have meant that the phone was already available (if it released in Oct as originally expected) by the time Nokia showed it off in Chicago. So why goto the meetup when you could buy the device yourself already? Didn’t quite make sense for Nokia to do.
So now that this semi-official announcement was released that it will ship sometime in November, I think it’s safe to assume that it will be sometime after Nov 2nd… But this still doesn’t tell us when in Nov it will ship could be the 3rd, right? So still have hope those of you waiting it’s release.
This thing suppose to work with TMobile’s 3G right???
Maybe they are waiting for Project Dark to get flushed out & for people to get comfortable with it before releasing their phone here… Which would be till after 10/25, there for in November…
Yeah… Yeah…. that’s the ticket…
Probably something got fudged at he manuf. plant..lol
Hope they are just putting a capacitive screen on it..lol
Gonna take a closer look at the specs… The price for this phone might be to good to pass… NewEgg already has it @ $560.

Wonder how much lower project Phone Co-Op(TheUnlockr) might be able to get it…
I can just sell it once the HTC Dragon comes out… Since it might be a while… I do like big screens.. The 5″ Dell MID didn’t look bad either…
Still hate the resistive screen on it though… Even with the good reviews of it..lol
Hello Y314K,
Yup, T-Mo 3G on an unlocked phone, gotta love that, other companies might follow suit if the N900 sells well, hmmm?
Hopefully we can get at least $50 off of that price (including all fees and shipping costs) that would be great.
You could definitely buy it and resell it, since it is an unlocked phone it will hold its value pretty well.
By the way… NewEgg is showing a “Release Date:11/14/2009″…
Yeah.. For a sec there I thought it wasn’t Google Voice compatable yet… But I was wrong…

That should help to save on the size of the plan (Would just need the less amount of minutes w/myFav’s) Wouldn’t need any texting. Would just need LowMinutes+UnlimitedData… And one is set…
So you a hopeful to be able to get the N900 right under $500 Net with project pCo-Op… Not bad…
Wonder, if once this thing hits the coders(XDA, etc)… One would be able to port Android 2.0 + a fully working HTC Sense on it as a App or Theme… Then I wouldn’t need to change hardware…lol
Still wondering if HTC will let both Acer Liquid A1 & Sony Ericsson Xperia X3/10 beat them to the SnapDragon market…??? I wonder if this is why you have the release date on the sign up thread for HTD Dragon for the end of Dec. lol
Hello Y314K,
Well T-Mobile’s new Project Dark plans might be cheap enough to not matter, but we’ll see when the final pricing on those plans come out.
It has Skype too though, so a Skype account with unlimited US calling and a Skype Number is about $8/month, plus free Google Voice for your text messaging for free, all you’d need is data lol $39.99/month on T-Mobile for Unlimited Data, right? So $50/month unlimited everything plan? No too shabby…
Ha, well X3 isn’t due out till Feb (good ol Sony), and no clue on the Liquid, so HTC may beat them yet.
1000 shared minutes
this is what i have…
24.99 data plan
my faves free
mobile to mobile free
Google voice # for free text
set up my outgoing google voice to one of my faves to have unlimited outgoing voice calls.
Hello Rey,
But you have a family plan right? 1000 minutes shared is what $79.99/$69.99? So your paying $30/$40 plus $25 individually so $55$65 for pretty much unlimited everything. Not bad lol
eXpansys is claiming delivery of the Nokia N900 in 5 business days. Is it already out or is Nov 2nd an actual release date? Not just “sometime in Nov”.
Neo,
I called them already. That is when they expect the euro spec N900, but its not in stock yet and they think Nokia might delay that version as well.
NNNOOOOOOOOOoooooooo…..!
Cuz I will pick up a UK version if I have to. 😛 lol. Even though it’s just a couple of weeks away from the Nov 2nd release date, it feels like an eternity until this phone is released.
