Official Google Reader app now available for Android OS
We have been making do with gReader (which is a great app by the way) as the mobile replacement for Google Reader all these days for our newsfeed needs, but no more, as the official Google Reader for Android is here. The app has been a long time coming seeing other Google apps like Search and Gmail have been with Android all along, but as they say, better late than never.
The app ports over most of the Reader features we have come to love like multiple accounts, feed search, subscribing to RSS feeds directly from the phone and synced preferences. There is also volume-key navigation, which enables moving between feeds using the volume rocker and feed editing by long pressing on the folder/subscription. Favorite stories can also be shared via the “send” feature using any 3rd party app already installed on the device.
Late, but still a great app for news on the go. Head over to the Market on your Droid (with Donut and above) or scan the QR code below to get it.
