Paranoid Android to Release New Multi-Windowing Chat Head-like Feature, Alpha Build Coming Soon
Wouldn’t it be sweet if you could have a Chat Heads-like function for every single app on your Android device? We’re shaking our head yes too, so it pleases us to see that Paranoid Android is working on a ROM that will do just that. There have been several Google+ and YouTube teasers that support this new concept of a “multi-window” feature that will be baked into the Paranoid Android ROM, and it looks like the builds are ready to roll out.
According to their G+ page, the concept will be a union between multi-windows and Chat Heads, which will allow users to access apps/messages while they are doing whatever else on their device. We’re imagining it to work like this: you’re playing Angry Birds on your phone full screen, and then you get a Gtalk message. The ROM will allow a window to pop up that will enable you to control Gtalk while still inside Angry Birds. The feature should work for any app on your phone, which would be amazing.
Alpha builds are expected to start hitting Nexus devices within the next few days and in the meantime you can check out the video below which shows off the concept.
