How to Quickly Access a Contact from your Home Screen in iOS 7 (Video)

Sometimes you just REALLY need to contact someone. I mean, so badly that having to go the traditional route of looking through your contact list is just not going to cut it. Luckily, there is a much faster way! With QuickContacts, a jailbreak tweak for iOS 7, you can set 4 contacts to be easily accessible with just a swipe down on the home screen. After that it’s just two quick taps to either call, message, or email them. Problem solved! Huzzah!

Here’s how to setup and use QuickContacts so you can quickly access a contact from your home screen.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.5). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install QuickContacts

1. Open Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in QuickContacts.

4. Tap on QuickContacts when it shows up.

5. Tap Purchase at the top right and follow the prompts to login and purchase using your preferred method.

6. Tap Close when you’ve paid.

7. Tap Install where Purchase used to be.

8. Tap Confirm.

9. Tap Restart.

III. Use QuickContacts

1. Pull down on the homescreen to show the quick contact icons.

2. Tap on any and select any contact you want for that spot.

3. Tap and hold on any you’ve already set to set a different contact.

4. Tap their icon to bring up their widget with quick access to calling, texting, or emailing them.

Enjoy!
