ROM Leak: Early build of Android 4.0 for the Motorola Droid RAZR
Moto may not be working just on a future Gingerbread update for the Droid RAZR, as this latest leak suggests that it seems hard on getting an ICS update out the door pretty soon too. The leak, which popped on the DroidRZR forums, seems to be that of an early build of Android 4.0.3 for the RAZR and is good enough to be flashed if you want to get an early preview of the finished product. Significant features include a new lockscreen, an option to put the device on silent/vibration mode directly from the lockscreen and the stock ICS browser. What befuddles though is the inclusion of the same camera app that can be found in Android 2.3 instead of the much better Android 4.0 app, but that could change when work is done and the update is finally released. We suggest you wait till Moto is done tinkering, but if that falls on deaf ears, here’s how to go about getting it on to your RAZR:
- Download the file (link on DroidRZR Forums)
- Place it on the root of your external SD card
- Go into Motorola’s Recovery
- Install .zip from SD card
