Rumor: HTC Planning A Smartphone Made With Liquidmetal
One of the feature’s that makes the HTC One so irresistible is that is crafted out of solid aluminum. The feel of the phone is just sexy compared to the typical smartphone made out plastic. And while we were all just getting used to a smartphone made out of solid aluminum, there is a new rumor that has HTC is looking to push the envelope even farther. According to DigiTimes, the company is considering adopting amorphous metal alloys for a new smartphones that would debut in the second half of 2013. The company will reportedly partner with Taiwanese chassis maker Jabon International to help manufacture the device.
While this all could be an attempt at creating buzz around the company’s next big thing, you have to admit that a phone using liquid metal alloys to make the chassis would be awesome. Sources speaking to Digitimes did say that the market demand for aluminum smartphones such as the HTC One remains strong and “full adoption of Liquidmetal is unlikely to occur in the short-term.”
