Rumor Mill Has Apple Close to Pushing Out iOS 6.0.1 Update, iOS 6.1 Update Expected After the Holiday Season

Sources close to Apple have reported that the company has made testing progress for an update to its most recent iOS version, iOS 6. The update, which will bump the OS update to version 6.0.1, is expected to fix a generic list of bugs and issues that iPhone and iPad users have been experiencing.

Hopefully the update will offer a solution to bug that is responsible for the annoying horizontal lines that appear on the screen when the keyboard or app folder is open. We’re also hoping for a fix for the camera’s flash not going off when it’s supposed to.The update is expected to enhance WiFi support and resolve the bug that allowed access to Passbook details from the lock screen.

Apple is also rumored to have begun the testing process for iOS 6.1, which should turn out to be a significant update from the current iOS 6. This update is expected to include vast improvements on various apps, settings, and will hopefully include a few new features. Let’s hope Apple improves its own Maps app in this update, as we’re sure that is what most users will be looking for improvement in.

iOS 6.1 specifics are extremely vague at this point, but we’re looking for this update to hit users after the holidays. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the upcoming iOS 6.0.1 update, and will keep you all updated when it becomes available.
