Samsung Captivate gets Gingerbread 2.3.5 via leak

While the Galaxy S II is taking a bow across the world, Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its predecessor and its success entirely, it seems.  The South Korean company is working on an Android 2.3.5 update for the Captivate, an original Galaxy S variant, and must be on the brink of releasing it, but the build has been leaked prematurely.  Numbered UCKJ1, the update will bring the device up to Gingerbread 2.3.5 and all the goodness associated with it.

As always, those who have dabbled with Odin before will find the update process pretty straightforward, but others new to the flashing game need to exercise a bit of caution.  If it’s too daunting, you could just wait for AT&T to release the update which, judging by the full functionality available on the ROM, is not too far in the future.

    1. Actually 2.3 was released in September for Samsung… Not just now.
Get the facts straight.  And it’s not a leak… they released it.

Seriously need to do more research before posting an article about this.
      Old news.

      1. This is 2.3.5, not 2.3. It’s the latest version of Gingerbread, and as the author stated, it just came out for this device and in the form of a leak (as Samsung hasn’t released this version yet).

This just goes to show you that Samsung is making a good effort to keep their devices as up to date as possible.

        Anyway, thanks for your comment.
