Samsung Fights Apple in France: Files Patent Complaint Against iPhone and iPad
The Samsung/Apple patent war rages on, but this time the legal battle has made its way to France. The Korean manufacturer has filed a complaint in a district court of Paris, claiming that Apple has infringed on three of their patents. The complaint cites that the UMTS technology featured in the iPhone and the 3G iPads are in direct violation of Samsung’s patents. A spokesperson for Samsung explained,
This complaint “focuses on three technology patents, and not on the design of the tablets,” unlike the injunction involving the Samsung Galaxy 10.1, which resulted in a nationwide ban of the tablet.
The first court hearing is scheduled in December.
