Samsung Galaxy 5 gets a CM7 port
In demonstration of yet another trait that the dev community has in contrast to the big cellphone manufacturers, Cyanogenmod 7 has now been modded to play nice with the Galaxy 5, a middling Android phone that Samsung quickly forgot after its upgrade to Android 2.2. The Gingerbread-based custom ROM is now available for the year-old device thanks to XDA member, subpsyke, with most of the components working except for a few niggles. The ROM is still not ready for primetime though and if you have any experience in cooking up ROMs, the developer would welcome it.
