Samsung Galaxy S finds its way to Japan via DOCOMO
Starting October 28th, the flagship device from Samsung will be available on DOCOMO in Japan. This adds to the long list of carriers and countries where the Galaxy S has been available for a while now. The phone will get to the island intact with all its features including its 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, Android 2.2 OS (not 2.1, mind), and 5-megapixel camera among others. In addition to the Android Market and the Samsung Apps, the Galaxy S will also have access to DOCOMO’s Market portal as well as support for the carrier’s SP-mode email service, which enables access to i-mode email accounts. DOCOMO is planning to open an ebook distribution service as a trial on the same day as the smartphone’s release, so Galaxy S will have this app built in as well.
No information has been provided about the price as yet but it should be revealed by the time it hits the Japanese streets on October 28th.
