Samsung Galaxy S II getting a processor upgrade to dual core 1.2GHz
As if its dual-core Cortex A9 1GHz processor wasn’t powerful enough, news has now come in that Samsung’s announced pack leader, the Galaxy S II, will be further upgraded to 1.2GHz, again with dual cores. The stepup would not only make it the leader in the Samsung camp but also among the other Android smartphones with ARM Cortex processors. This important bit of info was revealed due to a slipup by Samsung on its Estonian Facebook page, and was further confirmed by an “internal source” to GSMArena.
There’s no change in its other features including its Mali 400 GPU, 1GB memory, 8MP camera, customized Android 2.3 OS, and the usual connectivity accompaniments. The device was supposed to be released this March and since that hasn’t happened, we’ll just have to wait a bit more to experience the sheer power that the Galaxy S II possesses.
