Samsung Galaxy S II To Get ICS Upgrade March 15th, According to Israeli Samsung Facebook Page
A status update to the Samsung Mobile Israeli Facebook page has indicated that the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update will start reaching GSII owners on March 15th, in parts of Israel that is. While the original post is in Hebrew, the translation does suggest that the update will reach “tens of thousands of Galaxy SII devices” purchased in that country, either from “cellular companies in the country or directly from [Samsung].”
We’re hoping that this indicates the start of a global ICS update, as many of you have been patiently waiting. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for mid-March, and keep our fingers crossed that we don’t see any delays hit this update.
Here’s a translation of the post:
“We promised that we are working about that. You have waited patiently. And it’s coming in March 15th: Android version 4, ICS, for tens of thousands of the Galaxy S2 owners that purchased it from the cellular company in Israel or directly from us. We are very excited in here towards the launch, hope that you too :)”
