Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Pulls Vanishing Act At IFA, Possibly Due To Apple Legal Battle
Just a few short days after the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 was formally introduced at this year’s IFA show in Berlin, the Honeycomb slab pulled a vanishing act from the showroom floor. All traces of the tablet were removed including all demo devices and branded marketing materials.
Samsung would only confirm that the pull was “voluntary” to SlashGear, but otherwise the company is staying tight lipped about the reasoning behind removing the device from the show.
Speculation has increased around the reasons stemming from the ongoing legal battle between Apple and Samsung. Due to patent infringement litigation, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is currently banned from sale in Germany. Reportedly, some Galaxy Tab 7.7 devices wore stickers indicating they would not make it to retail in Deutschland as a result of the litigation.
While Samsung refuses to comment further on the matter, we can only hope the Galaxy Tab 7.7 still makes it way stateside.
