Samsung Galaxy Y and Y Pro Android smartphones announced
In line with its recently announced naming strategy, Samsung has revealed two entry-level Android smartphones, the Galaxy Y and the Galaxy Pro. The Galaxy Y has passable specs which should make it an affordable choice. At a glance, here’s what it offers:
- 832MHz processor
- 3-inch QVGA (320×240) TFT display
- 2MP camera
- Bluetooth 3.0
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n
- 7.2Mbps HSDPA
- 1200mAh battery.
- Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS with support for Hubs, TouchWiz UI and Swype text input
Not much is known about the Galaxy Y Pro, but we wouldn’t be wrong to assume that it will carry more or less the same features as the Galaxy Y, but with the addition of a portrait QWERTY keypad. Both the devices will be appearing in the IFA 2011, that is scheduled to take place in Berlin at the beginning of next month, so we should know more then.
