Samsung Puts RIM Buyout Rumors To Bed: Confirms They Are Still Not Interested in BlackBerry
Recent rumors of Samsung and Research In Motion (RIM) buyout talks got people so excited, even RIM’s dismal stock shot up nearly 9 percent. The other side of the rumor mill had RIM desperately attempting to sell themselves off, and only talking to Samsung about a licensing deal for its forthcoming BlackBerry 10 OS.
Unfortunately, according to a Reuters report it looks like Samsung doesn’t want anything to do with RIM at the moment. Samsung spokesperson James Chun confirmed today that the company is not remotely interested in buying up RIM in any facet. Chun elaborated by stating, “we haven’t considered acquiring the firm and are not interested in (buying RIM)”.Sorry BlackBerry fans, but it looks like that dreamy BlackBerry 10 OS RIM promised us just keeps getting farther and farther away.Source
