Samsung Withdraws Apple Lawsuit In Europe, Hopes To Protect Consumer Choice
In a surprising move, Samsung announced that it has decided to drop its European patent infringement lawsuit against Apple. The lawsuit covered a wide range of patent related issues in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. Samsung hopes by dropping its end of the highly publicized legal battle is “in the interest of protecting consumer choice”. The company continued to confirm its belief in fair competition by saying “we strongly believe it is better when companies compete fairly in the marketplace, rather than in court.”
The decision follow a US court decision where the judge ruled that it would not ban the sale of 20+ Samsung made products.
