Sharp unveils its 7-inch Galapagos A01SH Android tablet
With specs on par with any current Honeycomb device, the Galapagos tablet was unveiled by Sharp today. The device is currently being targeted towards the Japanese market, but Sharp may eventually bring it to the US, seeing that the same Galapagos tablet stopped by the FCC recently.
Featurewise, as we said, the A01SH has plenty to offer:
- 7-inch 1024×600 touchscreen display
- Dual-core Tegra2 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 5mpx rear camera with a 2-megapixel lens on the front
- 8GB onboard memory with microSD slot for further expansion
- Supports speeds of up to 42Mbps via built-in 3G mobile router
- Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system
No solid pricing or release details have been revealed but the word is that the pricing will be rather “competitive” compared to other tablets in the market currently, and that the device may actually hit the streets before the end of this month.
