Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 to get Android 2.1 before end of year
Better late than never right? The Xperia X10 family is already rocking Eclair and exploring a whole new world that it brings, but X8 users will have to wait just a little longer, according to an unnamed spokesman. If you didn’t know already, the X8 is a mid-segment device that features a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel lens, and aGPS running the ripe old Android 1.6 overlayed with custom SE user interface. The Xperia X8 will most probably get Android 2.1 upgrade within the next two months, something Sony Ericsson should have done a long time ago and as with the X10, users can expect improved Bluetooth connectivity, compatibility with apps that need Eclair and above, and a revamped UI.
The spokesman did not allude to a specific date, but as always, we will be here to get you one as soon as it is revealed, so stay tuned.
