Spotify Official Launch, Now Available In The U.S.

Spotify, the extremely popular music streaming service in Europe, made its official debut in the U.S. today. An excerpt from their press release introduces the service,

“Hello America. Spotify here. Spotify, the largest and fastest growing music service of its kind, is available from today in the US. We’re massively excited to be here. Spotify is a new way to manage your music, discover new tracks and share songs and playlists with your friends. Now you can enjoy music whenever and wherever you like. More than 10 million Europeans can’t be wrong, surely?”

Spotify allows user to stream unlimited music on demand with the option to build and play custom playlists.

Currently a free invite only  ad supported version of Spotify is compatible for Windows and OS X PCs. Not interested in waiting around for an invite, you can score Spotify for a monthly $9.99 subscription. The paid monthly subscription enables users an ad free experience, the ability to stream music to mobile devices, and build and share playlists offline for playback.

For the budget conscious consumer, a $4.99 intermediate subscription is also available. The intermediate plan does not support streaming to Spotify’s mobile apps. Spotify mobile apps are already available for Android devices in the Android Market and iOS devices in the Apple App store.
