Sprint Nexus S 4G to launch on April 24th

What seems to be an advertisement urging phone reps to sign on to a Nexus S 4G training program could give us an inkling as to when the WiMax-enabled Nexus 4G might be launching; that and the little birdie talking to Android Central of course.  While the ad only reveals the training commencement date (April 18th), the tipster has come up with more info on the whole deal and when the Nexus S 4G will be available to consumers, which should happen within a week or two after April 18th, with April 24th a more likely date.

Aside from the inclusion of WiMax to work on Sprint’s 4G network, the Nexus S 4G is similar to the original Nexus S including its 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 4-inch sAMOLED display, and a 5MP primary camera with a secondary camera for video calling.  The smartphone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and features NFC support.

When launched, the Samsung Nexus S 4G will cost around $199.99 on a two-year contract with Sprint, and customers looking to spread some wireless 4G love to other devices will have to shell out an extra $29.99 to use the phone as a mobile hotspot.
