Sprint Plans to Hold Off On Counter Offer to Metro PCS, Will Let Deutsche Telekom File Proposal First

It came as no surprise that Sprint was not pleased with the news that Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile’s parent company, was planning to acquire Metro PCS. Shortly after the news broke the Now Network started working on their own counter offer to Metro PCS. However, it appears as though their has been a slight change in strategy, as Sprint is now holding off on the counter offer until T-Mobile shows their hand.

According to recent reports, Sprint met with Deutsche Telekom to discuss the details of their proposal only to determine that their best game plan was to wait. Here’s how it works: After Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile file their proposed merger with Metro PCS there will be ample time for Sprint to review the deal and then decide how they want to move forward. By waiting to see T-Mobile’s offer and all its fine print, it will give Sprint the opportunity to outbid their competition and possibly the upper hand.

Looks like we will all have to wait a little longer to see how this particular story unfolds.
