Sprint Seals A $480 Million Deal With US Cellular, Will Take Over Spectrum and Customers in the Midwest
Sprint has officially sealed a $480 Million deal with US Cellular to buy their PCS spectrum and take over approximately 585,000 customers throughout the Midwest. Sprint states that the deal will mean they will pick up 30MHz within the 1900 MHz band across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio. The extra spectrum will be used to help the Now Network continue its quest to launch their 4G network in new geographic areas.
After the deal is receives regulatory approval US Cellular will continue their business in other areas of the country. The company stated that they plan to “increase focus on markets where it has strong positions” and “streamline operations”.
