Sprint’s HTC Supersonic?
So rumor has it that Sprint is joing the sexy Android party that’s been going on. The HTC Supersonic is supposedly a 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive screen, WiMaxx enabled, snapdragon powered Android device. You likey? Ya me too.
Here is a leaked pic from BGR:
looks secks-see, needs Maemo 5 or 6 please.
My nexus look better
I can see why you’d call it “sexy”, it’s the most direct ripoff of the iPhone I’ve seen yet from HTC, but regardless, I think, sigh, I’m going to have to call it “late”.
By the time this phone comes out, 2H 10, if not 4Q, I’ll be long gone from Sprint, a carrier, I’ve actually really liked.
Some way overpaid business consultant said something like a business has to be able to eat its own children, and it’s true. The Sprint Hero needed a refresh within 6 months to the Sprint Bravo, and the Sprint Palm Pre, should’ve become the Sprint Palm Pre Plus as well. (The Palm Pre Plus is also not a very interesting refresh — Palm should’ve done much better than that.)
The way I understand it… The Android HD2 aka SuperSonic won’t be out till mid-to-late 2nd half 2010…
From the rumors that have come out, It will probably first come out on Sprint with a possible TMobile version for the holidays 2010…
But for us that can’t wait… There seems to be an awesome alternative…

The WiMo HD2 should be out on TMobile in March, April the latest…
How about just sticking Android on it… Well now it’s possible to keep both WiMo & Android thanks to YDualBoot…
Looks fast, easy & awesome…
Now I am just waiting to find out about the Dell Mini 5 & the HTC HD2… I think either of this phones is better then the Nexus One… I need a scheen that’s 4.3″ or bigger… Now I just have to figuire out if I want to stay out of contract(pay upfront) or get in contract(Pay the long way)…
Y314K,
Wow, nice find my man!
Only issue I would have is how functional the Android OS would be (market, google maps, gmail, etc). And how long it is before Google’s lawyer’s notice and try to rip out the Market, Gmail, etc….
Otherwise, an HD2 with this on it is definitely a nice option 🙂
As for your Dell Mini, I think you’d be better off with the HD2 since you’d have XDA developing Android ROMs for it as opposed to the Dell Mini which will take forever to get the Android ROM to use in GenY Dual boot, ya know?
TheUnlockr:
The only major bug I’ve read so far is no camera on the phones that is compatible with. And no WVGA support… But HD2 support should be on its way by the time it comes out on T-Mobile. It’s still in the beginning stages… But it sure looks promising…

By the price rumor of the Dell Mini5 ($1K out of contract) I might have to go with the HD2… Although that screen sure looks nice… And it sucks it still running A1.6.. But the size seems to work for a pocket phone… Hopefully they will put A2.1 on it & get it down to under $600 thanks to the crappy IPad…
The $1K price is for a prototype version that was sold in the black market… It has no relation to the release price… My best guess would be under $600…
Im getting iphone chills to but I dont mind it. If they can one up iphone with this device i dont mind. It will attract alot of users who go out and buy an unlocked phone. The only thing android cant beat is apples extensive collection in their media library. But those issues can be addressed with a flash player which will give a greater access to online content and they can find anything the want.
it dosn’t look like a damn iphone it has a bigger screen and button layout is different it does look like there HTC HD2
