Tough And Rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover Unveiled With IP67 Certification
Samsung took the wraps of their new Galaxy Xcover in Germany today. The device is aimed at a demographic of consumers who are tough with their devices but still looking for the perks of the Galaxy lineup.
The Galaxy Xcover is the first Android device to have IP67 certification. IP67 certification means the device can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water and will withstand worry-free in a dirt and dust filled environment.
The Xcover will ship Android Gingerbread with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz interface. Additional specs include a 3.6-inch scratch-resistant display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash, and 7.2Mbps HSDPA. The only confirmed country to see the device is Germany for now, while U.S. consumers will have to wait until October to get their hands dirty with the Xcover.
