Verizon’s Motorola Droid and Eris Release Dates Announced
So it is just a rumor but the sources seem pretty confident. The rumor is that Verizon is going to be releasing their first two droid handsets on November 6th; the Motorola Droid and the Droid Eris.
The Motorola Droid is Motorola’s section Android device and is a nice option for anyone on Verizon that wants a physical keyboard. The Eris is the Verizon CDMA version of the HTC Hero that Sprint recently picked up.
So who’s ditching their current company for either, and who’s already on big red but plan to swarm the storm on the 6th? 🙂
i want to see how eclair works on a rooted g1 before i decide to convert from magenta to the big red

It is a little bit of a let down for me.
Sense UI has sex appeal but the hero has a rep for being a bit underpowered. 1ghz Sense UI with Google(c) might be worth the wait. Sholes with its magnet sensing alarm clock and car modes are pretty cool. Hopefully HTC incorporates that functionality into their hardware.
@PeDe I’m pretty sure the G1 received it’s final OTA update in Donut, sadly enough Eclair is too large for the G1 internal memory.

I’m 100% satisfied with T-Mobile, and my G1 now has a new lease on life (thanks to Cyanogen), so for now I’m more than happy to hold on to my G1 for a while longer and wait until it’s T-Mobile’s turn to get some more new and exciting android phones.
