Video: How to Share Unsupported Files via AirDrop from Your iPhone (Jailbreak Tweak)

AirDrop on your iPhone allows you to share files that are available on your device with other compatible AirDrop devices. While the feature is extremely useful for those who constantly exchange files with their iDevices, there are some limitations as to what type of files you can share. It doesn’t support all the file types, thus chances are you’ll be stuck when you want to share a file that is not one of the AirDrop supported file types (like music, for example).

Here comes a Cydia tweak that lets you break these restrictions and share whatever type of files you want. This tweak is called AnyDrop and it does exactly what its name suggests, it lets you drop any file to any of the compatible AirDrop devices. Here’s how to install this Cydia tweak and use it:

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

1. You must be jailbroken to do this procedure. If you aren’t already, please follow our How to Jailbreak iOS 8.1.1 tutorial and finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.

II. Install AnyDrop

1. Launch Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Search for and tap on AnyDrop.

4. Tap Purchase.

5. Make the purchase using your preferred method.

6. Tap Close.

7. Tap Install in the top right corner (it used to be Purchase).

8. Tap Confirm.

9. Tap Reboot Device when the tweak’s done installing.

III. Use AnyDrop

1. Tap AnyDrop icon in your SpringBoard. It’s like a typical iOS app that we usually download from the App Store.

2. Navigate to the folder where the file you want to share is located.

3. Tap on the file.

4. Tap Share icon in the top right corner.

5. Tap the AirDrop compatible device you want to send the selected file to.

6. And voila, the file’s sent!

IV. Using AnyDrop to Share Music

Note: This only works for the music tracks that you’ve synced to your iPhone using iTunes. It doesn’t work for the tracks that are directly downloaded from the iTunes Store to the iPhone.

1. Launch Music app.

2. Hold down on the music track you want to share.

3. You’ll be able to share the selected track using AnyDrop.

V. Using AnyDrop to Download YouTube Videos

1. Launch YouTube on your iPhone.

2. Play any video you want to download.

3. Tap three-dots in the top right corner.

4. Tap Down Arrow.

5. Select the quality you want to download your video in.

6. Let it download the video for you.

7. You’re done.
