ViewSonic dual-SIM, dual-boot Android phone/tablet announced

If it was the ViewPad 4 for CES 2011, it’s the ViewPad 10Pro for the MWC this year.  ViewSonic has even added a smartphone to the mix this time around going by the model number V350.  Looking at the V350, this Android 2.2 device features a 3.5-inch HVGA multi-touch display and a 5MP autofocus camera.  The usual features worthy of a good Android device are also shoved in, including aGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA connectivity, and the company has thrown in dual-SIM support for good measure.

The ViewPad 10Pro tablet, on the other hand, boasts of a 10-inch display capable of 1024×600 resolution and other standard features, but what makes this device special is its dual-boot capability.  The 10Pro can run both Android 2.2 Froyo and Windows 7 Professional with aplomb, making this device much more productive than your usual tablets.

While ViewSonic may still be green behind the ears when it comes to mobile devices, the Californian display manufacturer is definitely taking the right steps to catch up, adding in features that you wouldn’t find on your usual tablets/smartphones.  Let’s hope the trend continues and we’ll get to see many more better devices in the future.

Both the ViewPad 10Pro and the V350 are being showcased at the Mobile World Congress right now, so if you are in Barcelona, be sure to check them out!
