Windows Phone 7 Tango and Apollo updates in the works
The Mango update is yet to be released, but the latest reports point to two more updates on the horizon following Mango, codenamed “Tango” and “Apollo.” A manufacturing company called Compal Communications, which makes cellphones for Nokia, has revealed a deal with the Redmond giant to build devices not only for Mango devices but also the devices with an update that is scheduled to follow it, called the Tango. The Tango update will then supposedly make way for Apollo, something which has been discussed previously in WP7 circles.
Feature-wise, we should know more about these two updates once Mango is out, which is scheduled for an August/September release – as to when they will actually be released, we could safely bet on a late 2011/2012 time frame, once Mango has had time to penetrate the limited mobile market that Microsoft’s WP7 currently rules.
