HP TouchPad gets an alpha Android 4.0.3 CM9 release, doesn’t really feel so alpha in function

January 18, 2012 in Android News, Featured, Video, Wireless News

WebOS may be dead, but the TouchPad seems to be thriving thanks to a bustling developer community and its constant work on the device. The latest of the gifts handed down to the abandoned tablet is an early ICS 4.0.3 build of CM9 and surprisingly, much of the components do seem to be working albeit with a lot of snags. For now, what doesn’t work is a big list, but that list should shorten with time if the devs keep up the good work and bugs like the camera not working, the lack of standard Google apps or hardware-accelerated video playback could disappear over time.More information can be found at the Rootzwiki development thread here. Before that, watch the video above to know what works and what doesn’t if you are still undecided on making the jump.Source
