How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Alcatel One Touch 995

Flashing a custom recovery on your Alcatel One Touch-995 has many benefits, that include flashing new ROMs, making backups of your current ROM as well as wiping off data on your device. ClockworkMod Recovery (a popular custom recovery) has become available for the said device and the guide below shows how you can flash it on your device. Let’s get started:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Alcatel One Touch-995 procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.

2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

3. This works on Windows based PCs only.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. ClockworkMod Recovery (Download the file that says CWM for stock Alcatel firmware)

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Alcatel One Touch-995:

1. Place the archive you just downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Once it’s been enabled, plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

5. Double-click on the file named flash.bat to start the flashing process.

6. It’ll flash the CWM Recovery on your device.

7. Once the flashing’s done, reboot your device.

8. And you’re all done!

Awesome! You now have a working custom recovery up and running on your device. Go ahead and flash your favorite ROMs!
