How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Window N70S

Custom ROMs provide users an opportunity to experience a whole new and better user experience than what they currently have on their device. They allow users to change icons, transition effects, add new features and a lot more. In order to install a custom ROM on your device, you’re going to need a custom recovery. If Window N70S is what you use, you’ll be glad to know that it’s been blessed with the CWM Recovery – one of the best custom recoveries for Android devices. The guide below shows how you can get it up and running on your device in no time. So go ahead and get it done:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must be rooted before you can do this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Window N70S procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.

2. This will install CWM Recovery on your device.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. ClockworkMod Recovery (Download the recovery that says for N70S from the first post)

2. Quick Boot — QR Code (Google Play Link)

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Window N70S:

1. Download and place the CWM Recovery archive onto your Desktop.

2. Rename the archive to update.zip.

3. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Copy the archive over to the root of your SD card.

5. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.

6. Head over to the Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.

7. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.

8. Hit Recovery option in the app and your device should reboot into the recovery mode.

9. Once in Recovery, select install and it’ll install the CWM Recovery on your device.

10. You’re all done!
