How to Root the Huawei Ascend P7
Although some may say it’s difficult to root a Huawei device, but we at TheUnlockr are ready to serve you with a pretty easy method to gain root-access on your Huawei Ascend P7. Once rooted, you’ll have everything on your device that you ever wanted in your life, believe us.
Rooting is the process of gaining administrative rights on your Android device. Once we root our Android device, we can then make changes to it to customize it well beyond what it normally can do.
Once you have root access on your Huawei Ascend P7, you’ll be able to:
- Remove apps that were preinstalled by your carrier/manufacturer from your device.
- Free up storage space (because of the above benefit).
- Increase battery life (apps that might have been running constantly can be removed).
- Increase performance (after removing apps that are always running, the device will be less bogged down and run smoother).
- Update to a new version of Android (by flashing a custom recovery/ROM, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).
- Tons of other customizations when you use your new found administrative rights to flash a custom ROM (again, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).

just tried to root the P7-L00 ( installed with the latest firmware: P7-L00v100R001C17B123SP01), but the root process failed. looks like the new firmware has some built protection. Any other suggestion how to root it?
jup. i have huawei p7 L10 and I can root it but I cant use any software like screen rec. or other programs, aim trying another root methods and other softwares for screen rec. but no one isnt working.
I tried using this any many other methods to root my P7. But the closest I’ve gotten to actually rooting my phone is “half rooting” it. By half rooting I mean Root Checker verifies that my phone has been rooted (when I tried using Root Genius specifically) but whenever I try to use apps that require rooting it keeps on saying the writing permission “Write permissions on system partition are required in order to use xxx.”
This is super annoying, wish I could find a way to do this properly already.
Does the SuperSU app exist on your device? If it doesn’t, get it installed from the Google Play store and you should be able to run root-only apps on your device.

Hi, I bought a Huawei P7 L00 (European market) with firmware P7-L00V100R001C17B610. It should have 16 Gb ROM but It has a total of 4,06 Gb available and after installing apps now only 471 Mb free. I would like to change the partition. Do have to root the phone as described?
