HTC announces the first list of devices eligible for Android 4.0 upgrade
HTC was a bit reticent on revealing its plans for the Ice-Cream Sandwich update when it was initially shown off, but the Taiwanese mobile giant has now revealed the first batch of devices that will be getting the update eventually. Check the list to knowif your device figures:
- HTC Sensation
- HTC Evo 3D
- Sensation XL
- Sensation XE
- Rezound
- Evo Design 4G
- Amaze 4G
Also in line is the HTC Vivid that went on sale today from AT&T – this still makes it a pretty short list, but HTC may be right in not doling out Android 4.0 to older devices, especially if the update is too heavy to be handled, marring the user experience that the company aims for. We’ll let you know if they ever do decide differently – you could always count on someone else to build a custom ROM based on ICS 4.0 until then.
