How to Unroot the Alcatel One Touch 990

Have you had enough playing with your rooted Alcatel One Touch 990 smartphone? Don’t need root-access anymore and want to unroot your device? No worries, here’s how you can do that. Unrooting will restore the warranty of your device and at the same time, it’ll make root-only apps stop functioning on your device. Here’s how you can unroot your device:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have rooted your device using the procedure given here. If you used any other method to root your device, this procedure may or may not work for you.

2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

3. This works on Windows based PCs only.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. SuperOneClick (It’s attached in the first post)

III. Unrooting the Alcatel One Touch 990:

1. Place the SuperOneClick archive to your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Once it’s been enabled, plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.

5. Double-click on the SuperOneClick executable file and it’ll launch.

6. Click Unroot and it’ll unroot your device.

7. And you’re done!

Brilliant! You’ve successfully unrooted your One Touch 990 smartphone and should you ever need root-access again, you can re-root your device.
