Apple Stores Now Able To Unlock Full Price AT&T iPhones At Checkout

Essentially, if an Apple store is running low on the GSM SKUs of the iPhone 4 they can retrieve an AT&T SKU, and at checkout the system will offer the option to unlock the device. Providing the consumer is paying the full $650 for the 16GB or $750 for the 32GB and the specific store does not have any GSM SKUs left.
Prior to this policy change, Apple was able to sell contract free iPhones at full price, but they were still intertwined to AT&T. Now consumers are able to select an international carrier or with minor surgery to the SIM card the device will work with T-Mobile.

You must be nuts if you think people are willing to pay $650+ to unlock, people are use paying 40$ to have someone hack/unlock it .
