Video of Android 2.1 on the Dell Streak
Engadget got their hands on the Android 2.1 firmware for the Dell Streak yesterday and they decided to share some of the improvements they’ve noticed as well as a video:
The Android 2.1 update is coming through O2 overseas “early next month” and Froyo is coming “in September” |
NumPad and Capslock are gone from the keyboard |
Google Maps now supports Pinch to Zoom |
New dialer skin |
Android’s Gallery App preinstalled |
Music player received a minor UI update |
Music player controls work when screen is locked |
720P Video recording has been added |
icons on the homescreen now only fit 24 per page instead of 32 as before |
Second taskbar button from the left now shows recent apps |
Dell’s own RSS and music widgets have been made wider |
Engadget also put up a few benchmark scores that we can compare to the Streak’s 1.6 benchmark scores and see how Android 2.1 improved performance:
