Apple Claims iPhone 5 is World’s Thinnest Smartphone, Forgot To Look At The Competition
It was hard to miss out on Apple’s big announcement yesterday, which unveiled the iPhone 5 and a claim that this device is the “world’s thinnest smartphone”. Make no mistake, while the iPhone 5 measures in at 7.6mm thin, it is Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date, but by no means the thinnest smartphone the world has ever seen. Apparently when Apple’s Phil Schiller made this bold claim he forgot check his facts. Let’s take a look at a few notably thin smartphones that hit consumers before Apple’s next-gen iPhone.
As many of you may remember, the OG Motorola Droid RAZR for Verizon measures in at 7.1mm, which is significantly thinner than the iPhone 5. Now, while the RAZR’s hump design does make it thicker in some areas, there’s always the Huawei P1 Ascend at 6.7mm, the ZTE Athena at 6.2mm, and the Oppo Finder at 6.65mm.
Just saying.
