Cyanogen Flashes a Custom ROM on the T-Mobile G2

So this is a little old news, but figured it deserved some more attention in an effort the get other devs to learn from Cyanogen’s methods and further the development of rooting/flashing methods for the G2.

So Cyanogen’s team seems to have gotten around the inability to flash ROMs on the G2 (with their “security update” and all blocking such abilities). His team has released a video showing Cyanogen’s ROM running on a G2. Along with the video is a quick statement on Twitter saying;

Cyanogen: “Booted CM on my G2 in the most horrible way possible… No, we still don’t have real root.”

Here’s the video proof he provided:

So even though this option isn’t available to everyday users and he states that it was a “horrible way” of booting the ROM, it shows it’s possible and might not be too far off…

Thanks Jorge for sending this in!
