European LG Optimus 2X gets an update to fix issues

It may be up there in the big book as the world’s first ever dual-cored smartphone but the LG Optimus 2X (known as the G2X stateside)  is not without its flaws.  The device was prone to frequent reboots and random freezes – so much so that the frustrated customers launched an online petition asking for a fix to these issues.  It seems that LG does have its ear to the ground and surprisingly the company has now released an update to fix just these bugs.

As always, the update will find its way to the unlocked Optimus 2X handsets across Europe initially and it’s up to the carriers to let this one in in case of carrier-locked versions.  As for the G2X this side of the pond, which has been plagued with the very same bugs, T-Mobile might be working on releasing this as we speak.
