Google Debuts Apps For Glass: Path, Evernote, New York Times, Gmail and More
It looks like 2013 is indeed the year that Google plans to unleash their wearable glasses, otherwise known as Google Glass. The tech giant took to the SXSW event to unveil the budding ecosystem of apps that is already in place for Google Glass.
News junkies will be pleased to learn that the New York Times is already in the works which will allow Glass to deliver a headline, a byline, an accompanying image and the number of hours since the article being read was posted. Glass will also enables users to have the story read aloud if they want.
Gmail will also have a dedicated app available with some helpful features included. Glass users will be able to see an email sender’s image and subject line on the device’s screen as well as the ability to reply to emails by dictating their message.
Evernote and Skitch will also be integrated into the tech in addition to the social networking app, Path. While it may not seem like many apps for the device’s launch, according to Timothy Jordan, a Google Glass developer, this is simply the beginning.
