How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Motorola Xoom
Now that we have access to the microsd access via a custom kernel, Koush has released his Clockworkmod recovery image for the Motorola Xoom. What can you do with a custom recovery, you ask? Well, you can create and restore backups of the entire system, ability to flash kernels, and the ability to flash custom ROMs as well. Here’s how to get the recovery image on your newly rooted Motorola Xoom.
As always, big thanks to Koush and his team for their awesome recovery images!
I. Before You Begin
1. You MUST have done our How To Root the Motorola Xoom procedure AND then the How To Enable the MicroSD Card on the Motorola Xoom procedure.
Once done with both come back to this procedure and continue.
II. Flash the Recovery Image
1. Go to the Android Market on your device and search for ROM Manager.
2. Download and install the free ROM Manager.
3. Go to Settings on your device, then Applications, then Development and make sure USB Debugging is Checked ON.
4. Now, open ROM Manager and click Flash Recovery (you may have to give it superuser permissions when you click it). Then wait for it to finish.
5. Once it is done, simply click Reboot into Recovery to get into recovery mode and make sure it shows the ClockworkMod recovery image. If it does, you are all set. Enjoy!
I can open it in two every time you run the device displays the two options fastboot And rsd mode 2 plaes help me. I bought the xoom two days ago
Hi so I tried to root my Motorola Xoom Honeycomb 3.1 tablet yesterday but it didn’t work and so I tried to unroot it to restore it to it’s factory settings. But now it is stuck in a boot loop and I can’t boot it up into the HoneyComb O/S. Does anybody know how to fix this without using the micro sd card to flash the ROM?
