How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Commtiva Z71

Rooting alone won’t let you enjoy the true potential of your device, but a custom recovery would help you do so. A custom recovery sits in place of your stock recovery and provides you with far better and more features than the stock once. Features include making backup of your current firmware, installing new firmwares, flashing mods, to name a few. Getting a custom recovery installed on the Commtiva Z71 is by no means a complex process, all you need to do is just follow the following guide and you should be done.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have done our How to Root the Commtiva Z71 procedure.

2. This will replace your current recovery with the CWM Recovery.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. ROM Manager — QR Code (Google Play Link)

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Commtiva Z71:

1. First of all, download and install the ROM Manager app on your device. The download link’s given above.

2. Once installed, open it from your App Drawer.

3. Hit the option that says Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

5. And you should have a custom recovery up and running on your device!

6. You’re done!

Excellent! Your device has been successfully equipped with a custom recovery, and now it’s up to you how you use it to customize your device!
