How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the LG Phoenix
Want to flash ClockworkMod Recovery on your rooted LG Phoenix smartphone? Great! We highly recommend you to do it. A custom recovery like ClockworkMod really helps when your device’s not responding, as you can easily flash any custom ROM and get it up and running in no time. You can even create backups of your current ROM, adding an additional security layer to your device. So, let’s see how you can install ClockworkMod Recovery on your LG Phoenix smartphone.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Our root guides are located here and here, for Froyo and Gingerbread, respectively.
2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.
3. This should replace your current recovery with the CWM Recovery.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. ClockworkMod Recovery (Download link’s given in the first post)
2. Fastboot
III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the LG Phoenix:
1. Download and place both the archives to your Desktop.
2. Extract files from both the archives over to your Desktop.
3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
4. Once it’s been enabled, connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
5. Launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do that, simply hold down the Shift button on your keyboard and right-click on any blank area on the screen, then select Open command window here.
6. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window:
adb reboot bootloader
7. Your device should reboot into bootloader mode.
8. Now issue the following command to flash the recovery:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
9. Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.
10. You’re all set!
Awesome! Your LG Phoenix has been successfully flashed with CWM Recovery. You can now boot your device into the recovery mode to enjoy all of the features it has to offer you!
