How to Remove Bloatware from the HTC Droid DNA
Whenever you buy an Android device from a carrier, Verizon, for example, you will find that it comes with a lot of bloatware preloaded on it. While some may find these apps useful or rather enjoyable, others don’t think the same way and these apps are nothing but just junk for them. So all those bloatware-against friends, here’s how you can fling away the bloatware from your HTC Droid DNA smartphone and make some room for your favorite apps:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the HTC Droid DNA procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.
2. You must have ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your device. If you followed the guide linked above, you have it already.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. DNA App Remover (It’s attached in the first post)
2. Quick Boot — QR Code (Google Play Link)
III. Removing Bloatware from the HTC Droid DNA:
1. Place the DNA App Remover archive on your Desktop.
2. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the archive you just downloaded over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.
5. Now head on over to Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
6. Once it’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
7. Hit Recovery option in the app and your device will reboot into Recovery mode.
8. From the Recovery menu, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
9. Choose the DNA App Remover zip to be flashed on your device.
10. It’ll start flashing the file on your device and once it’s done, reboot your device.
11. You’re all done!
Awesome! All the junk apps (bloatware) have been removed from your device and you now have some free space to store your favorite files!
