How to Root (and Unroot) the Karbonn A7+

The Karbonn A7+ is a budget-friendly Android device that is primarily available in India.  But as with its reduced cost, the specs are also vastly underwhelming with a 1GHz processor, a 3.5inch touchscreen display, and a 5MP camera.  If you want to get a bit more out of this, rooting is definitely the way to go and the post below should help you achieve that with much ease.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Charge your device to 75% or more to prevent unwanted shutdowns.

2.  Back up anything you feel is important.

II.  Necessary Downloads

Karbonn_A7+_ROOT.rar [Link available under #1 in the ROOT section of this post]

III.  Rooting the Karbonn A7+

1.  Extract Karbonn_A7+_ROOT.rar to a folder on your desktop.

2.  Connect your device to your PC in USB Storage Mode.

3.  Copy Root.zip from the extracted to your device’s SD card.

4.  Disconnect and power down your device to put it into recovery mode.  To do this, press and hold the Volume Up plus Power buttons simultaneously until you see a red screen.

5.  Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to navigate and highlight Apply from SD card option and press the Power button to select it.

6.  Select Root.zip on the next screen to start the flashing process.

7.  Once the flashing is done, go back to the main menu and select reboot system now.

You should now find the Superuser app comfortably residing in your app drawer, which means you have successfully rooted your device!

IV.  Unrooting the Karbonn A7+

Follow the same steps as in the previous section but use the UNroot.zip file instead of Root.zip to unroot the Karbonn A7+.

V.  Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Karbonn A7+

Use our easy-to-use guide if you want to install ClockworkMod Recovery on the Karbonn A7+.
