How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus

Rooting the Samsung devices have always been easier than rooting devices from any other manufacturer. What has made this possible is Chainfire’s CF-Root method. The newest inclusion in the Chainfire’s rooting list is the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus. If you have got this shiny new phone, you should root it right away to get the most out of it. Once rooted, your device should be able to run root-only apps, a custom recovery, and a few other things that’ll help you get rid of bloatware, increase the performance of your device, and so on. Here’s how:

I. Before You Begin

1. This should void the warranty of your device. We won’t be held responsible if you end-up bricking or damaging your device. Do it at your own risk.

2. This only works for the SM-G901F variant of the device. Do not try this on any other phone or you’ll brick it.

3. Ensure that you have Samsung USB drivers installed on your PC. If you haven’t, download and install the latest drivers from here.

4. This should flash a custom recovery on your device as well.

II. Downloading Required Files

1. Download Odin and save it to your desktop.

2. Double-click on Odin executable and it should launch.

3. Click on PDA and choose CF-Root available on your desktop. It’s the file that you extracted from the archive and not the archive itself.

4. Put a checkmark in the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.

5. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the Odin.

6. Turn off your device.

7. Turn your device back on by holding down Volume DOWN, Home, and Power buttons together.

8. Press Volume UP and your device should reboot into download mode.

9. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

10. Click on Start in the Odin and it’ll start flashing CF-Root on your device.

11. When it’s flashed, your device should automatically reboot.

12. You’re all done!
