How to Root the Swipe Halo Edge Tablet

The Swipe Halo Edge is a low-end tablet that is easy on the wallet and so easy on the specs too; the device features a 1.5GHz CPU with a 7-inch screen and a 5MP camera and currently runs Android 4.0 Ice-Cream Sandwich.  What could make this tablet better is of course rooting and with its factory-unlocked bootloader, this should be pretty straightforward.  The guide below will help you do just that and if this is what you want, read on.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Back up everything you deem important before starting.

2.  Charge your device to 75% or more before you begin.

3.  Make sure the necessary drivers are in place before you start.  If you are not sure, use these and then proceed.

II.  Necessary Downloads

Rootx 2.1 For android.zip [Link available under the DOWNLOAD LINK section of this post]

III.  Rooting the Swipe Halo Edge

1.  Enable USB debugging on your device.  To do this, go to Settings > Development and tick the USB debugging checkbox.

2.  Connect your device to your PC.  If there are any drivers being installed at this point, let them do so before continuing.

3.  Extract Rootx 2.1 For android.zip to a folder on your desktop.

4.  From the extracted folder, double-click on Rootx_start.bat to start the rooting tool.

5.  Type 1 and hit the enter key on your keyboard.

6.  Wait for the process to complete and reboot your device.

Once your Halo Edge reboots, it should be completely rooted!  To verify, download any root-requiring app or Root Checker Lite from the Play Store or simply look for the Superuser app in your app drawer!
